A graduate of UC Davis who studied the environment and international relations, he developed and expanded on composting and recycling services for the campus including the Aggie Sports Stadium, all venues and special events on campus as well as managing the cutting edge practices of the UC Davis Whole Earth Festival in the early 2000s.
As the Principal Consultant for Waste Busters, Michael brings 15 years of experience in the field. After starting his work in this field as the Manager for the UC Davis Zero Waste program, Michael formed Waste Busters in 2008, operating Zero Waste programs for major events, performing waste characterization studies and consulting for a wider variety of clients, public and private. He is an active member of the California Resource Recovery Association (CRRA).
